201 Mastering the Science of Wine
4th Wednesday of each month (Each class is offered 1x/quarter in succession)
A three part series offered each quarter, designed to delve deeper into the underlying science of wine. Each segment is independent of each other and not required to understand the next class. From tasting and defining aromas to the process of making wine. Appreciate the aromas and flavors in wine and learn how to "train your brain".

Identifying Aromas in wine
Winemaking Basics: (Feb, May, August, November)
Viticulture, Fermentation, Vinification, Storage and Aging, Stabilization and Bottling.

Wine by the numbers: Side by side varietal comparison (New varietals each month)
2nd Friday and 3rd Wednesday of each month
Compare and contrast a single grape varietal and see if you can detect the similarities as well as the unique differences that different wine growing regions have on the style of the wine.
Regional Focus: Travel the world of wine without leaving home
(Different countries and regions of the world each month)
2nd Thursday and 3rd Saturday of each month
Immerse yourself in the wines, cuisine and landscape that define a region. Learn why the grapes used for wines from one country differ from another. How are the labels and names of the wines determined and what creates the selection and quality of that region that make it so unique and different from others.
Head to Head Competition: Different Varietal competition each month
Fourth Thursday of each month
Taste several examples of different varietals as they compare and contrast to each other in a head to head battle. Presented in a blind tasting format and using a formal judging scale to evaluate the wines and see which ones may surprise you and win the challenge.
Class dates and times are subject to change. Classes that are not full are subject to cancellation. 24 hr notice will be given in case of cancellation.
